Description:
Microprocessor controlled redox potential (ORP) monitor and controller for seawater aquariums and denitrators.
The redox potential is an electrical value (mV) that indicates the oxydation or reduction potential in the aquarium, i.e. cleanliness of the water.
The optimum range in seawater is between +300mV & +400mV.
Ozone can be added through a protein skimmer to increase the redox value.
Control upwards (Low) for the addition of ozone to increase the redox value (mV).
If monitoring a denitrator the redox level should be between -300mV & -100mv.
As bacteria consume the nitrates the redox value decreases and should not become lower than 350mv.
The upwards control of the redox value in denitrators is through the addition of aquarium water.
Control downward (High) for the addition of a reducing agent to lower the redox value.
Measurement range: - 1,999 to +1,999mV
Hysterisis adjustment for switching the set point. Suggested hysterisis is between 5 - 10mV
Calibration/reference program for 230mv solution.
Package contains: mV Computer, plastic mV probe with BNC plug, reference fluid (230mV) and instructions.
